While psychedelic experiences can open us to extraordinary beauty, insight and healing, they can also lead us into challenging inner landscapes, often called “hell realms.” These states may involve fear, shame, grief, dissolution of identity, or the resurfacing of trauma. Without navigation tools, you might feel trapped, overwhelmed, or re-traumatized. Learning how to recognize, stabilize, and move through these states is not about avoiding depth — it’s about building spiritual and psychological awareness so that difficulty becomes an opportunity for insight rather than a dead end.
When you know how to move through these challenging places, your body builds resilience and self-trust. You meet fear with curiosity, compassion, and choice. You remember that the shadow world is just part of a larger healing arc. These tools are not only for psychedelic journeys; they translate directly into everyday life, offering ways to navigate anxiety, despair, and emotional overwhelm with greater grace. Having some navigation skills in your toolbox can provide a map, language, and embodied strategies to move through difficulty with awareness instead of avoidance. Rather than being at the mercy of the experience, you can learn to relate to it as a meaningful process that can be met with compassion, choice, and wisdom.

ABOUT CARLA DETCHON
Carla has been exploring the world of psychedelics, for more than 40 years. For 22 of those years, she had the honor to work with psychedelic icon and elder, Ralph Metzner, as well as another revered female elder who was trained by The Secret Chief, Leo Zeff.
As a Life Coach for over 20 years specializing in integration coaching, Carla helps clients integrate transformational time periods in their lives such as psychedelic experiences, mid-life crises, divorce or career transitions. Her work is in the shifting landscape between a person’s current life status and where they really want to be—to where their soul is calling them. Using energy work, guided meditations and integration practices, she helps people navigate those shifts so they can arrive at a more peaceful, integrated, whole place within themselves.
Carla recently came above ground with her psychedelic knowledge in her own podcast, Psychedelic Divas, where she demystifies the world of psychedelics through the wisdom of the divine feminine. She is calling on people of all genders to lean into their natural divine feminine traits—intuition, creativity, compassion, healing, connection, nurturing, and flow—in order to help bring balance back to our individual selves as well as the world.
What Is the Eldership Series?
In an increasingly digitized world moving further from nature, ceremony, and embodied wisdom, we're creating space for something different: direct transmission from women who've spent decades in study and service.
The Eldership Series brings you 2-hour workshops with Elder women - teachers who are often difficult to access. We feel that "freebie" culture comes at a price to those holding true knowledge and wisdom that has taken a lifetime to cultivate, which is why we firmly believe in an accessable but honest exchange. These aren't podcasts or casual conversations, they're classes requiring hours and hours of planning and many tecnological platforms working together to bring you the experience. ELDERSHIP is virtual circles where knowledge is transmitted, practices are learned, and lineage is honored.
While some lessons focus on earth medicines, each elder is invited to share whatever needs to come through: healing practices, ancestral knowledge, techniques they've refined over lifetimes of work, stories. This is wisdom transmission in its traditional form - slow, intentional, and rooted in real experience, brought to you by modern methods: zoom.
The Moms on Mushrooms Eldership Series is open to anyone who feels called. While many teachings center women and mothers, all who feel called are welcome.
